The Founder’s Story—From Fashion Editor to Herbalist
I believe that good things happen when we slow down and listen to ourselves. After more than a decade working as a fashion editor in an industry that never stops, I made the conscious shift from the hustle to educate myself in wellness and embrace a self-care practice that’s more than skin deep.
In 2017, I set out to give this community the same with Vertly, where we’ve crafted small-batch skincare with the calming powers of fresh botanicals. In essence, I bottled the slow-down I was seeking. Now, I invite you to do the same: To relax the body and mind, to soothe aches and tired muscles, and ultimately unlock a slower pace that lets you get back to yourself again.

Based: Marin County, Northern California
Vertly blends the backgrounds of husband-and-wife duo, Claudia and Zander. Claudia has a creative background, having worked the NYC fashion industry for over a decade, followed by a career pivot to study herbalism. Zander comes from a California farming and landowning lineage, which also includes family that has been involved in the medicinal cannabis industry for well over a decade.
Combining his career history in nutrition, health coaching, and yoga with Claudia’s herbalism education, their concept fully came together. Claudia collaborated with botanical formulators and chemists, while blending CBD with fresh healing plant extracts from the garden and Vertly skincare was born in 2017.
